In Crisis Now or Feeling Suicidal?

In Crisis Now?

Unfortunately, we do not offer a crisis help service – although we will try to offer some crisis support to existing customers, subject to availability – we can not offer this to everyone as this is not a 24 hour service.

If you are in crisis now then please contact The Samaritans (this links to their website) or you could ring them on their free phone number, 116 123 in the UK and Northern Ireland or 1850 60 90 90 in the Republic of Ireland, email them at Jo@samaritans.org, or contact your own GP – if it is outside their working hours – don’t worry - each GP will have an out of hours service so have a pen and paper handy to jot down the out of hours number. Your GP can arrange for counselling for you and in most cases this is a free service. For medical queries speak to NHS Direct on 0845 4647 (soon to be replaced by the NHS 111 service) or in an emergency ring 999.

If you are located outside of the UK then contact Befrienders.org

Children who need to speak to someone now please ring Childline on 0800 1111 – this is free and will not show up on an itemised telephone bill. In an emergency ring 999.

Feeling Suicidal?

Many people face a crisis or have issues in their lives that at the time feel insurmountable and may give rise to suicidal thoughts. Often these thoughts pass over time with or without help. Often at such times we feel time is critical when in truth we need time to consider alternatives – if you are feeling suicidal – give yourself the time to talk to someone who will understand and may help you to review options you have not considered. Please ring The Samaritans. Time and help will almost always give more positive options – give yourself a chance with both and ring The Samaritans.
